BEN BENN 
exalted in dozens of reviews by Hilton Kramer “as one of the best painters in the U.S.”, is the last important American artist of the “early moderns” to be fully  recognized. Collected by over thirty museums, including the Metropolitan, Hirshhorn and Whitney, his work was part of the Whitney’s recreation of the l9l6 Forum Exhibition of Modern American Painters held in l983. Benn has had over twenty one man exhibitions and countless group shows. He is known for his strong joyful colors, thick brush strokes and energetic paintings. This gallery represents the artists’ estate from l904 to l972.
